Absence
What is it?
An absence is a period in which you are away — holiday, illness, a school trip. You enter From, To and, if you like, a reason. Appointments in that period you have not answered yet count as No automatically when you are nominated for them. That includes your own coaching-team reply and published occupancy-plan slots you are assigned to. An appointment you can only see, with no one named on it, is left as it is.
Why does it matter?
- You do not have to decline every appointment one by one.
- Coaches plan early with the right numbers and see why you are missing.
- You get no reminder during that time that your answer is missing.
How it works
- Open the menu on your name and choose Absences, then Add absence.
- Parents choose one or more people under For whom?: themselves, a child profile, or a youth account. All selects every person. Anyone with shared access to a child can do this too.
- Choose From and To. A single day works as well. The period must not end in the past and can be at most one year long.
- The reason is optional. Only coaches see it — other players and parents do not.
- The absence applies everywhere: in all your teams, for club appointments and for training times from a published occupancy plan.
- Only appointments you have not answered yet are declined. The answers you already gave stay as they are. If an appointment's response deadline has already passed, it stays unchanged — even without your answer.
- Open an absence to see the appointments in that period, including ones you have still accepted.
- If you are nominated afterwards, or a new appointment is created that you are nominated for, it is declined immediately. An existing appointment that moves into the period is declined within a few minutes.
- Coaches see the note Away and your reason on the appointment. You see the note Absence next to your own decline.
- If you are a coach in the team, the absence also applies to your response in the coaching team.
- Editing is not possible. Remove the absence and enter it again.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still accept? Yes. Just answer the appointment with Yes or Maybe. Your answer counts and stays. Once a response deadline has passed, only a coach can change your answer.
Can I see which appointments are affected? Yes. Open the absence. An acceptance you entered yourself is still listed as Accepted.
What happens when I remove the absence? The automatic declines for upcoming appointments are taken back. Your answer is then missing again for those appointments. Past appointments and your own answers stay. An automatic decline on an appointment whose response deadline has already passed stays too — but its reason disappears everywhere, including on those still-standing declines, because the reason was only ever linked to the absence, never copied.
Does my place become free while I am away? No. A decline changes nothing about your place in a training group or the maximum number of participants.
Can two absences overlap? No. Only one absence per person can be entered for the same period.
Can I enter an absence for several children? Yes. Choose several people, or All. Each person gets their own absence. If one person already has an absence in that period, the others are still saved.
Do coaches get a message? No. They see the absence directly on the appointment.
