Membership and roster

What is this?

People belong to the club, not to a team. The roster is the assignment to a team. Membership (standing Member, Not a member or Resigned) is official club membership — not the same as “appears in the member list”, and not the same as Inactive on the roster.

Why it matters

• You can rebuild a team without inviting people again: assign them from the pool.
• Leaving a team, or being removed from one, leaves you in the club. That also applies to children.
• The board can keep membership standing without changing matchday operations.
• Parents of children are not automatically club members.

How it works

1. Members lists accounts and parent-managed children. Roster names without an account do not appear there.
2. People join a roster through an invite link, Add from club, their own child, or by creating a roster name.
3. Add from club is allowed for an admin, or a coach in their own team. It does not create a new pool row.
4. Club roles are additive: Admin, Coach, Youth lead. Without a role you are a regular member. The owner always stays admin.
5. Roster roles on the team (player, coach, admin, owner) are independent of club roles.
6. The member list filters by team, role and birth year. Admin and youth lead also see membership standing. Coaches do not.
7. Standing is changed in the Membership dialog — optional note and history. That does not change teams.
8. Removing someone from the club ends every team membership in that club. A child and a parent account stay independent of each other. A parent can also remove their own child from the club themselves, on the club's Teams page, by confirming with the child's full name. The child can be invited back at any time.
9. A main club has no membership management of its own, only the read-only combined list.

FAQ

Am I in the club if I am on a roster? For a club team: yes. For a standalone team: no.

Do parents count as members? Only if they join themselves. Shared access does not create club membership.

Do I need Club Pro for the member list? No. The list, badge, filters and history stay free. Saving standing and notes, and Export CSV, need Club Pro.
